Meet Santa Claus, his elves and his reindeer at the "North Pole" on this
exciting pre-Christmas adventure to Russia and Finland.
Drive your own husky dogsleds, take a horse sleigh ride, engage in a Fairy
Tale Christmas Tour at the "North Pole" with a local storyteller ......
You'll also visit St. Petersburg, the birthplace of the Nutcracker,
and see a ballet at the Mariinsky Theater where the Nutcracker was
first performed at the end of the 19th Century.
You'll also do a lot of other fun things in St. Petersburg, and set the
scene for a Russian children's Christmas. Visit a traditional Russian
village and take part in making traditional crafts, and have a spectacular
Russian Christmas party!
Join us for a heart-warming Christmas celebration and get a chance to give
your child or grandchild's final Christmas list to Santa in person at the
North Pole!
FINLAND PORTION:
December 17th
Arrival
at Kajaani airport for transfer to hotel with rooms decorated for
Christmas.
Enjoy some free time to swim and relax before dinner, a traditional
Christmas meal with entertainment.
December 18th
After breakfast get ready for a half-day husky dog sleigh safari as you
mush your own team!
Introduction to the husky farm, the dogs, and learn about the animals,
including sandwich and coffee for breakfast. This is a fantastic day spent
in the forests decorated with winter white snow - at one point you are
just one hill away from the border of Russia! Traditional lunch of
salmon, bread, and pancakes served by open fire. An unforgettable
experience.
Enjoy the sauna and swimming before this evening's dinner. A magical
surprise awaits after dinner as you hop into a sleigh and are whisked away
across the lake to a cozy tent and campfire with hot drinks. Listen to the
silence of the night and gaze at the brilliant stars as you enjoy this
special moment.
December
19th
After breakfast take a leisurely morning to relax or enjoy other
activities on your own before the afternoon Fairy Tale Christmas Tour. A
short walk to the Christmas Village and then you'll enter a village of old
traditional wooden houses. Meet local elves for a fun morning of
activities including the baking of Christmas cookies, enjoy fireside chats
with Santa's helpers and a meeting with Santa Claus himself. Hot
drinks served during the activities.
Return to the hotel for swimming or sauna before dinner.
December 20th
After enjoying the extensive breakfast buffet, try your hand at one of the
included optional activities - it's your choice! You might want to take
your first snowmobile ride on a Finnish lake and forest, go cross-country
skiing or for a snowshoe tour, do some ice sculpting or even ice-fishing!
All options include a guide - choice of one activity.
This evening's dinner is a special night with a local folklore program.
December 21st:
Transfer to Kajaani airport for flights home or extend your Magical Santa
Claus program to St. Petersburg!
ST. PETERSBURG PORTION:
December
21st
Arrival in St Petersburg.
Meet tour manager who will be with group for the stay and board coach for
transfer to Hotel Pulkovskaya.
Check-in to the hotel.
Dinner this evening will be a festive surprise with English-speaking
clowns, a magician and even an animal trainer!
Overnight Hotel Pulkovskaya
December
22nd
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning city tour of St Petersburg aimed at the children but exciting for
adults as well. Entrance is included to the Zoological Museum, and a short
visit to the Hermitage Museum. Lunch is included in a child-friendly local
restaurant with children's play area.
Dinner at the hotel.
Ballet performance - timing depends on the schedule which is not
yet published. Transfers with coach, and good seats in box in dress
circle.
Return transfer to the hotel.

Note: the itinerary for these dates are interchangeable depending on
the final ballet performance schedule.

23rd
Today you'll visit Shuvalovka, a replica traditional Russian
village, constructed in the city of St Petersburg, replica copies of 19th
century country village buildings. On the edge of the village the group
will transfer into the village by troika (horse-pulled sleighs).
The group are then met by 2 clowns who present the group with Russian tea,
mulled wine, and pastries. There will be a traditional Russian Folk
Party (a posidelki) with indoor games for the children with the
clowns, folk dancing and music. There will be the chance to see local
craftsmen at work, and a possibility to join in one of the crafts such as
painting of matrioshka dolls (which can be then kept as a gift).
Traditional lunch is included as part of the party.
Return transfer to the hotel.
Dinner on own.
Overnight Hotel Pulkovskaya
December 24th
Transfer with guide and coach to the airport, including porterage service,
for flights home.
